Our History
MSN was originally called Eastside Senior Network. In November of 2001 the board of ESN redirected, redesigned, and re-named the organization Metropolitan Senior Network. Under the direction and dedication of former ESN President and Founding MSN President Brenda Suteu, along with Ken Cross and Jim Norris, bylaws were written, a mission statement composed, core values adopted and specific goals and objectives established for a new healthcare marketing association. This was a significant change from a networking group to an official 501(c)6 Non Profit Corporation, enabling MSN to participate in fundraising and lobbying.
The idea was to create an organization that would offer more education and be a guide and support for professionals (throughout the Portland/Vancouver metro area) who are given the task of both filling their company with referrals and keeping an eye on what is best for the senior population they are serving.
